My first mani of the new year and I chose Essie Cabana Boy. I wanted a nice neutral to wipe my slate clean.
I have mixed feelings when it comes to Essie polish. I feel like their luxe effects and cashmere matte polishes are fairly consistent but that goes out the window with the rest of their polishes.
When I saw the line up for the Retro Revival polishes there were three polishes that caught my eye. Due to the timing of the releases and the holiday season I had to be choosy about which ones I picked up first. Cabana Boy made the cut along side the cult classic Starry Starry Night.
Two coats and this polish was mostly opaque. There were still a few spots where I could see through to the nail if i caught it in the right light. This polish also left brush strokes on the nail that were visible even after the top coat was applied and dried completely.
